The value chart that I completed in pencil was used to show different shades and how they can create value on shapes. I practiced drawing spheres, cones and cubes using shading techniques we learned. Some of them were done in pencil while the darker ones were completed using charcoal. We were given the option to use either pencil or charcoal on the final project, the one with the three shapes overlapping each other in a row. I decided to use pencil because I felt it would easier to correct mistakes and it would blend better. I shaded the shapes on the right side darker to make it appear like the light source was coming from the left. Adding a surface line helped improve the quality by making the picture more realistic. I think I did well on this project, and I learned specifically how to shade my spheres better during this project.
