For this project I had the idea of having a wolf on a rock to show him looking out at the artic landscape. I added snow covered trees to the ground on the right and I had the sea with ice chunks on the left. I also put an iceberg off in the distance to add more to the background. I created clouds and when I painted the sky I made it a lighter blue then the ocean and I think that part came out really well. I enjoyed making my clay tile by combining multiple things together.
I had used clay before this project but I hadn't made a tile with a background, middle ground, and foreground. It was a little challenging at first to try and make the right objects for the piece(specifically the trees) but I eventually got what I wanted out of the clay. Clay was fun to use just because you get to use your hands and it's different from drawing something on paper. My final tile came out pretty similar to my final drawing, which I was really happy about. Using clay before definitely helped me out with this project and I was pleased with using new ideas and techniques.
I wasn't concerned about anything I did while making the clay parts for the final piece. The good thing about clay is that if u mess up, u can just get rid the part you don't like and improve on it the next time. It's different with drawing where you can't erase everything, which I think helped me enjoy it more. There wasn't much need to be worried if I did something wrong, though I didn't really do anything completely over again. Overall with my clay tile project I enjoyed making it and I was pleased with the outcome.
